Older.Simpler.Very diff compared2 Toshogu but just as interesting.This1 was founded by a monk who brought Buddhism 2 Nikko so it2 has historical significance.If u❤history,arch,nature,u will like this.

My favorite shrine out of the group! Time seems to fly because everything is so beautiful to look at. I even had the chance to sit in on a shrine demonstration and lecture.

Futarasan Shrine was founded in 782 by Shodo Shonin, the Buddhist monk who introduced Buddhism to Nikko and who also founded nearby Rinnoji Temple.
